How Monthly Giving Has a Positive Impact on Families

Are you hoping to make a lasting impact here in Central Indiana? Consider monthly giving!

Let’s take a look at what monthly giving is, why it’s beneficial to nonprofits and donors alike, and how recurring donations help Grace Care Center run smoothly throughout the year.

What are the Positive Effects of Monthly Giving?

Monthly giving is a form of recurring giving. It involves setting up regular, recurring donations to a nonprofit at a set interval – in this case, monthly!

On the nonprofit’s side, monthly giving provides consistent and reliable revenue. This makes it easier for organizations to plan ahead, better budget their resources, and respond quickly when emergencies arise.

For donors, recurring donations allow for gifts to be spread out over a period of time. This makes it possible for many donors to give a larger amount to a nonprofit than with one-time gifts, therefore having a bigger impact. Automated monthly giving also enables donors to set up their repeat donation once, without having to remember to give again and again.

Next, let’s talk about monthly giving here at the Grace Care Center Foundation.

What is the Care Center Collective?

The Care Center Collective is a special community of monthly donors who are transforming hunger into hope for families in Central Indiana.

These dependable donors make it possible for us to serve more families, even when the needs in our community increase. Their gifts join together to make a collective impact on those we serve.

How Does the Collective Help Families?

Monthly giving guarantees that our neighbors can always find the support, resources, and care they need, when they need it.

Here’s a look at how these recurring donations impact Central Indiana families through each of the core services here at Grace Care Center.

Choice Food Pantry & Mobile Pantry

Monthly donations work hard in the Choice Food Pantry and Mobile Pantry! Here, your recurring gifts help keep shelves stocked year-round with a wide selection of nutritious fruits and veggies, fresh meat and dairy products, shelf-stable goods, critical household items, and more.

In 2025 alone, the Care Center distributed $1.67 million worth of food and goods via the Pantry, Mobile Pantry, and other programs – a record high. And we’re expecting that number to keep growing in 2026.

It is monthly giving that makes it possible for us to immediately and consistently meet this increased need, as well as plan ahead to see what improvements we can make to this core program.

Vehicle Services

Through Vehicle Services, Care Center Friends are provided with routine maintenance for their vehicles. This keeps families safe on the road to work, school, and more.

Your monthly gifts help cover the cost of this program, making it possible for families to maintain reliable transportation and continue moving toward greater stability and independence.

Microsavings & Loans Program

With the help of monthly giving, we’re able to offer zero-interest loans to help Care Center Friends. This helps them pay for necessities and save up for bigger items, without resorting to predatory loans or harming their credit.

Your monthly gifts help make this program possible by supporting the coaching, guidance, and operations that allow families to build financial stability while working toward long-term independence.

English Classes

The English classes offered at Grace Care Center are available to a wide range of ages and skill levels. Learning English helps Care Center Friends access better employment and higher education opportunities,

Your monthly gifts help keep the cost of our English classes at just $25 per semester, so they remain accessible to anyone who wants to learn English and build a brighter future.

The Co-op

Finally, we have Cooperative Services, also known as the Co-op. Here, Friends are paired with volunteer coaches and mentors to tackle various challenges through individualized plans. Many Friends focus on budgeting, paying down debt, and other goals that empower them to build stability and independence, as well as make lifelong changes.

This year, our monthly donors made it possible for us to expand the Co-op program. We are now able to offer the Co-op three days a week, giving more Friends a chance to participate!
