Grace Care Center Recognized as a Center for Working Families

At Grace Care Center, we believe lasting change happens when neighbors come together. Every week, volunteers, donors, and community partners make it possible for families in Central Indiana to access the resources they need to break free from poverty, whether that’s healthy food, financial coaching, or support with employment, housing, and more.

We’re thrilled to share that United Way of Central Indiana has named Grace Care Center’s Co-op Program as a Center for Working Families. United Way has awarded Grace Care Center a $150,000 grant to support its Center for Working Families work in its first year.

The Center for Working Families initiative “connects individuals to stable job opportunities, financial coaching, and other critical supports that help build lasting economic security.” This recognition affirms the role Grace Care Center plays in walking alongside families as they work toward stability and independence.

This funding will directly strengthen our Co-Op program, which provides families with personalized wraparound support—including financial literacy, employment assistance, legal guidance, health resources, and housing support.

The announcement came at United Way of Central Indiana’s United for a Cause event on August 21, where the Grace Care Center team joined other Hamilton County leaders to discuss how, together, we can create lasting change for families across Central Indiana.

Thank you, United Way of Central Indiana, for your partnership and for investing in the future of families in our community.
