This summer, hundreds of thousands of Indiana children may go hungry. 

Low-income families often have access to free or reduced-price school meals during the school year. In 2024, Indiana SUN Bucks (aka Summer EBT) provided 600,000+ children with $120 in grocery benefits for the summer–totaling more than $70 million in federal funding. 

But SUN Bucks support isn’t available in Indiana this year.

2024 was a year of breaking barriers here at Grace Care Center and the Grace Care Center Foundation. Together, we teamed up with our incredible partners, donors, and volunteers to meet the rising demand for our services and programs.

Recently, I watched a family carefully choose items using about 35 pantry points. They spent 14 points on fresh produce—food that would have cost nearly $50 at the grocery store. Curious, I took a photo of their cart and visited my local store to match it.

On Monday, March 17, Grace Care Center hosted Indiana Mad Ants forward (and Purdue alum!) Dakota Mathias, who presented a team-signed jersey from December’s Dino Night promotion.

We laughed at what a foodie-friendly grocery experience it was at the Choice Food Pantry last night!

Leah shared that she was exhausted. She's had trouble sleeping and she's working hard.

What a delight it was to be able to share in her joy of some extra special blessings in the form of foodie-approved food pantry treats that aren't readily available through typical assistance models. Delights like blue cheese, fresh produce, and hard-to-find items will make her meals extra special this week.

Rico is a dedicated father of five boys and made a big impact by volunteering to lead his youngest son's small group. He’s deeply committed to taking care of his family and setting a good example for his sons.
